Ramp Rat’s Ride is a stock Lancair Legacy built in 2005 by Allen Raymond. Under the cowl is a stock Continental IO-550N delivering 310 horsepower to a Hartzell 3-blade propeller. The aircraft is capable of speeds of almost 300 mph in its stock configuration.
The Legacy is a kit-built airplane that was the second generation of Lancair’s two-seat aircraft design, building on the predecessor, the 320/360. The Legacy was built to be faster, bigger, have better flying characteristics, and incorporate all the lessons learned on the company’s previous models.
