Joe was the proverbial airport kid at his hometown airport from the age of 12 years old, giving him the moniker of 'Ramp Rat' amongst some of the local pilots. From this early age his passion for aviation propelled him to a career as a professional pilot, building homebuilt airplanes, formation flying, and racing.
